In light of the recent Chrome bug on Windows that saw people lose their password for almost a day, I figured this would come up again.

For myself:
1. Bitwarden
2. Free, not self-hosted
3. Free, open source, integrates well in the browser and on my phone, syncs across everything. There's an option to self-host if it comes to that
4. It takes the extension a long time to load when I first launch Brave

I'll also add there are a lot of features with the paid version that I'm thinking of starting to pay for.

Same as above, was Lastpass now 1Password.

I liked Lastpass more, better UI... but obviously that whole password not being safe thing was a bummer.

1Password is still a bit clunky, but it gets the job done.

I use 1Password for work (paid version) and Proton Pass for personal (paid version).

I like both.

Another 1Password user here. I like the family setup it has. I have everyone on it and all of our devices that have an app have it. I find it super easy to organize and share passwords and set permissions.

I was on LastPass previously. Both have their plus and minus but overall really happy with 1Password.

If you were used to the super easiness of lastpass what is the best one that integrates well with iPhone like last pass did?

We have iphones and 1Password works pretty well on it.

BitWarden definitely more secure, but you give up a chunk of ease of use/UI with it.

Use Keeper for personal because we get it free for family through work. Like 1password a little better.

3) I like that its not integrated in my browser - and lot of what I store is not browser related. I am old school, and like the feel of a stand alone application. Not hosted where someone else is responsible for my stuff nor centrally stored making it less of a desirable target. Even if someone steals the DB file I don't care - cause they're not breaking a 20+ char key in AES256.
4) Need to share it around my devices, which isn't a big deal for me. But can see the negative for some.

My company uses LastPass - we may change (and I don't use it), but enterprise migration is such a pain in the *** to deal with.

3. I hadn't used a PW manager prior, so everything's a luxury. I love it. But it's easy to use, and I like that it's self-hosted. Don't have to rely on a different company to store my info.

Currently using a paid Bitwarden. It's nice enough.
I also got on the betas of iOS and MacOS and been using the new Apple Password app. It's solid if you are in the Apple ecosystem. Not sure how it works outside. I might migrate to it full time once iOS 18 comes out and see how it shares with my wife.

Yeah, but it's not fully deployed. Maybe a few hundred users in a company of tens of thousands. In contract and too many other things going on (also a Crowdstrike customer lolz). I don't think they're going anywhere tbh, down but not out.

Didn't realize eero plus gives free 1password going to try it out

Our company still uses it too. I was surprised we kept it.

1Password here. Company pays for it and i get personal family plan for free. Used to have Keeper and was happy to change.

Bitwarden here. I occasionally have issues with auto fill not working which is annoying as I no longer keep passwords that I can recall other than my master pw for Bitwarden itself.
