I've pushed this series a few times but the remake of the first game in the series drops tomorrow.

Action RPG/Turn Based hybrid. It's a slow burn. You start small and the world opens around you. No spoilers but one of the best endings in gaming.

No Man's Sky since the Voyagers update is absolutely sick. If I play it in VR I may never come out.

Played through The Division 1 and currently playing The Division 2 again. Both games hold up really well imho.

Division 2 endgame is better, less reliance on RNG, so I am currently working through D2 endgame, maxing out my build(s). Played through some of the simpler raids (Countdown). Want to check out the longer form raids/incusions when I get my build far enough along.

Just picked up Arena Breakout. It's pretty fun. A little more forgiving than Tarkov.

How does it compare to the original? I think all the reviews I've seen basically gave it a perfect 10, and I'm a big fan of the original so I'll buy it at some point.

So far so good! It definitely feels like the same game, but with fresh ideas. I'm not far into the story but the new boons are cool and I like where the story has gone so far. Tons to unlock.

I loved Hades 1 and this is living up to my expectations so far. Also I'm addicted all over again so that's a good sign!

It's ready! Came out 9/25 or so.

I'm loving it. I want to go play Final Fantasy Tactics but I'm going to keep going on Hades. It makes the original feel quaint in comparison - a lot more content this time around, at least ~12 hours in.

Nice!

I feel like a dolt as I just discovered the original Hades on Game Pass. Not sure how this gem of a game slipped past me. Such a great game. Looking forward to playing the second one.

Tried out Warhammer 40k DarkTide, but didn't love it. Playing Warhammer Vermintide 2 and it is much more fun.

Alan Wake II launches on PS+ this month (today I think). I've already watched 2 horror movies per my usual October habits and this game is going to fit right into spooky month!

My only regret is that BF6 also launches this month so my time will be split. I was also hoping to replay the RE2 remake again this month... next year I guess.

I think I'm out on Resident Evil. RE2 and RE3 made me rage quit with their bull**** invincible bad guys chasing you throughout the level.

I gave RE4 a run this week as well which is considered the holy grail of RE. It's fine but didn't think it was all that special. Certainly harder than most games at least early on when you only have a pistol and a knife that breaks after 3 stabs.

Similar hot take: I don't like Resident Evil games. The stalker enemy is annoying after the first couple of scares and aside from its place in gaming history (specifically RE2 and RE4) for innovating some gaming mechanics, I don't find the games enjoyable or replayable. To be frank, they're not fun to play for me.

Preach. I frankly hate the game mechanics.

RE4 is excellent the 1st time, but then the only replay value after that is when you have the Chicago Typewriter and infinite rocket launcher

I'm getting close to the end of TotK. I may push to beat it this weekend and then go start a new game of KCDII. The playthrough I started when it was first released is around 20 or so hours in, but it's been many months and the game is just so freaking good, I don't mind starting from scratch.

I may do that before finally jumping into Clair Obscure, but we'll see.

Revenge of the Savage Planet - open world metroidvania with fairly juvenile humor. It's fun.

I'm the odd duck that replay value is a non-factor for me. I never play a game twice because it doesn't make any logical sense to me. Just a total waste of time that my brain can't compute.

Lone exception: right now. I'm playing Black Mesa which is a redo of Half-life. However, I haven't played Half-life in 27 years so I recall almost nothing about it so it's basically new to me again.

I wanna stand up for RE4 but I'm really tired and don't feel like it. But IMO it is truly one of the GOATs. I remember reading once that it not only revolutionized shooters by introducing the 3rd person shoulder cam angle (so Gears of War and Mass Effect fans should be grateful), it also - for better or worse - introduced Quick Time Events. It was also the first game to be ported onto every system under the sun.

Anyway, I beat Hades 2 and now I'm on to Final Fantasy Tactics.

Finished Black Mesa. Awesome game. Better than the original Half-life if solely because the Xen level has been completely redone and is far superior.

Now playing Soma.

I never played Wake 1 but I just loved Control. Such a wacky weird and haunting game that was just fun as well. I'll have to add this to my list once I finish up Oblivion.
This part in particular was just wacky fun!

Picked up Remnant 2 ultimate edition last week for $30. Game is pretty fun so far. I suck at boss battles so I can tell from watching some boss battles in the reviews that the game is going kick my butt.

I too, played Control before the AW games. Alan Wake 1 is definitely fun, but you can tell it's an early Remedy game. AW2 is absolutely wild

Of note, I noticed yesterday that MS has dumped a ton of Ubisoft games and others onto GamePass ahead of their price hike. Obviously, an attempt to try and keep you locked in.

I've downloaded Far Cry Primal which I never heard of and already really enjoying it.

There is a remaster version out there... if/when you play it, DO NOT skip the between chapter interludes... the music is some of the best in gaming!

Old Gods of Asgard!!!!! You'll see!

Finally broke down and got the FFT remaster...

Playing on tactician and wow, either I'm old/rusty or it's a significant jump in difficulty. One chocobo almost wiped out my team on my first random Mandalia Plains encounter.
