Anyone switched to them and like it? Been thinking about switching from Xfinity, but seen very spotty reviews on Frontier. Just thought some of you might have an opinion. Thanks

My parents have them. My dad hates them. He's on a Facebook group something about how Frontier sucks and he enjoys showing me his posts on there. That's all I've got.

Internet seems to be plenty fast when we visit.

My experience is that Frontier has a good product, but very poor customer service.

We are in one of the original launch areas when Verizon FIOS rolled out. Have had fiber for over a decade. When Verizon sold their fiber to Frontier, CS went to shat! Speeds are great however. We made it through the COVID era with two full-time work from home parents and two HS kids. All on zoom meetings, streaming and gaming. No hiccups.

So to back the above post, great product...bad customer service.

We moved into Pebble Creek in September and went with Frontier over Optimum. We both work at home and stream TV. No kids at home so no gaming. I don't think I've noticed an outage the entire time we've been here and I'm in the Internet A LOT with work. We've been happy for sure.

Their product is great and I believe Verizon is buying it back.

Fiber is almost always universally superior to cable. The tech itself is near foolproof in the field (no amplifiers and other active components to go haywire, unlike a coax cable network), not to mention the potential for massive symmetric bandwidth.

We originally had Verizon and they were good. Very fast and reliable. Frontier bought them out, and during the switch over we had lots of problems. We went from having no outages to weekly outages. Whenever I tried to call Frontier, the customer service was terrible. Hours on hold to speak to someone who you couldn't understand or would basically say there was nothing they could do. All the neighbors had similar issues. Eventually, we switched to Charter. The overall service has not really been more reliable, although they almost always send someone out same day or next day, even if it's not their fault.

From talking to neighbors, Frontier's outages have calmed down, and they are pretty reliable again. However, I have heard their customer service is still terrible. Still, though, I am considering switching back.

All that said, my inlaws who live about a mile away also have Frontier, and they never had issues. I live in an older neighborhood, and in general we have more outages (not just Internet, but also power) than the others in my area. It could just be my neighborhood that has had so many problems.

I've had it for a little over a year and haven't had any problems.

We've had it for years and only long outage was because an irrigation crew broke the fiber to the home. The customer service was decent for that just a few days wait for the crew.

We did have some spotty streaming Wednesday night but it resolved.

I got Verizon FIOS at my old house during the original rollout sometime around 2004. I kept it when I moved to my current house, but got so frustrated with their pricing model of raising MY prices while continuing to offer very low introductory prices to others. I got cable around 2015, kept it for as long as I could stand it (more TV issues than internet), and then came back to Frontier about a year and a half later. About 3 years ago, I demanded they give me introductory pricing on their FIOS internet only product when I cut TV and phone (never used it). They did, though they've raised it every year since.

The other day, I upgraded to 1gig down and up and it didn't go so well. After several long chat sessions, a guy came out today. Turns out all that was needed was the box on the wall reset (I had reset the modem several times). The chat tech either didn't know that or didn't tell me -- I could have done that without any issue. If they try to charge me for the run, well, that won't end well for them.

I can't say I'm real happy with it due to the service problems, but I can say it rarely goes down. My garage box got tagged by the GFCI plug it is plugged into a few years ago. All it took was a reset, but at first, I didn't know what the problem is. I hate the GFCI code.

We've had them since they put in fiber a few years back. Only had a couple of outages of note in that time and most were caused by contractors they had handling the initial installs. Speed has been much good and vastly more consistent than Xfinity ever was at a much better price. I haven't had a huge issue with customer service when I've needed it.

I've had Frontier Fiber for 4 years now. It's only gone out twice. It's been extremely reliable and I've never had issues with customer service, either. Just ran a speed test and I'm getting 324.3/160.0. So it's pretty quick.
