I recently installed a TV on my back patio that is about 40 ft away from my hot tub. My TV does not have built in Bluetooth capability. What would be the best way to be able to connect a Bluetooth speaker to the TV so I can have sound next to the hot tub? Optical output to bluetooth adapter? Something else that works better?

Could just put a firestick on the TV and connect the speaker to the firestick via bluetooth.

Sonos was the best option we found.

There are many BT transmitters for TV use on amazon. We have one cost about $40.

This is the easiest/cheapest/cleanest solution. You'll be able to control TV on/off and volume all with with the Firestick remote.

The 3.5mm audio to bluetooth adapters can be a bit clunky to get working smoothly in my experience.

Also, the $1,500 Sonos system is a very TexAgs suggestion.. lol

This. I had this exact same setup, and it worked reliably.

Use an AppleTV for my porch TV. Can play audio on TV and WiFi speaker poolside.

Apple TV with paired HomePods got great sound. Operates off WiFi alone. Only wires is hdmi to the tv.
