Despite Hiya and the AT&T version, I still get some leaks into my phone and texts like this one:

"Hello,

I hope you're doing well! I'm reaching out to see if you're currently open to new job opportunities. We have multiple openings for Board Certified Behavior Analyst(BCBA) across various locations in Colorado.

If you're interested and would like to learn more, feel free to call or text me at 469 -649-7649, or email me at lara.clark@protouchstaffing.com

Looking forward to hearing from you!"

I've called a few back with the fax handshake tone, and signed the emails up for a few spam sites.

Does the Nerdery have a strategy vs these annoyances, or should I be taking this to the Outdoor or Automotive Boards?

Just delete, report it as spam, block sender and hope the filters catch them in the future.

I doubt the phone numbers and email are monitored in any meaningful way that they would be annoyed with spam.

The one posted above actually answers and gets a fax handshake tone as a reward. Now they send m me to voicemail to get to listen to the tone at their leisure. Fantasy is to waste enough of their effort/time to get me "banned" as a PITA

The other strategy doesn't seem to work well. Unfortunately, I've had my cell number a very long time.

I get it, it's frustrating. I've had my phone number for over a decade and I still get calls and texts for the guy that previously had it. Luckily with the new iOS unknown calls and texts can be silenced and placed on a separate screen so the every day annoyances dropped drastically.

I just report, block and just hope that AT&T and Apple get better about blocking spam.

Same. I'll also typically have my phone settings to silence or send all unknown numbers to voicemail. Doesn't help w/ texts obviously.

the other work around they are using is texting from an email. Those I sign up for spam. Any good spam sites to recommend?

In iOS 26 there are separate screens for unknown and potential spam texts. It's nice.

Unfortunately I have a number of co-pilots that would not be on my white list until after the first time we fly together that would make the unknown caller setting unworkable for me unless I preemptively added a few hundred people or so to my contacts.

Apple or something does need a text screening app.

A user filter in Messages for specific words would help a ton. Filtering by phone numbers is useless because the spammers usually spoof the number anyway. But the spam text contents are consistent. Give me a way to block texts by content, Apple. Or better yet, have AI recognize spam patterns and block them for me.

I want a bot that goes back after them.
