I have owned this sequential serial number pair since 1982.

I love the old integrated amp two-channel sound, but I love the modern streaming, random access call on songs.

What are my best options?

Thanks in advance.

Help an old out with modern, but warm, tech.

I guess it depends on what you like about the cornies. Klipsch speakers are very distinctive due to the horn loaded tweeters - many people love them, I do not.

If you are enamored with the "Klipsch" sound, then you should be looking at Klipsch, JBL, or Altec as they all use similar style tweeters. Klipsch Sevens might be an option...

If you really just liked the convenience of the integrated amplifier and want something with modern streaming options, that opens up a lot of other choices.

Your post is a little confusing (perhaps why no additional responses). What exactly are you wanting advice on? A new set of speakers? 2 channel or multi-channel? Electronics/amps? I'm not clear on what "random access call on songs" means with respect to "two-channel sound". Give some more details about what you want to achieve as well as room size/details and price range.

If you are asking what I think you are asking... I added this to a similar setup and it has worked well:

Have had the speakers for 40 years. Still sound great. Looking for the electronics to drive them.

So what source(s) do you want to play from - just audio streaming from like Spotify, etc? TV? Other?

Trying to see if you have a real need for something like an actual receiver/pre-processor or not.

If you only need streaming then buying something like a WiiM and a 2-channel amp would be my suggestion. If not going the receiver route I'd suggest a class-D amp based on Hypex/Purifi technology. If money is an issue though, you might be better off with a lower end receiver + external streamer or an "all in one" product.

I find streaming/encoding/decoding technology changes much faster than AMP technology so I like to buy "separates" although you can find products that do both in the same box (including in a lot of receivers). Downside is if one part of it fails or becomes obsolete, the whole thing has to be replaced (which is why the manufacturers love selling them lol).

Also - is a subwoofer in your future for this system? Or sticking with just the 2-channel output?
