I know this could be easily answered by making a trip to Audio Video since they did the original install when the house was built but wanted to educate myself before doing so.
Built house a couple years ago and had ethernet and coaxial run throughout the house into a centralized closet.
The ethernet is all installed into a junction box (?) with one cable outbound w/o a connector, just a loose cable. I assume this is the input cable bring the signal into the box.
The internet wiring and router were installed upstairs (not in closet). I was not home when this was done and the tech didn't want to put it in the closet so my wife didn't fight him.
What are my options to get a signal into the junction box? Can I reverse the signal thru my pre-existing wiring? Out of router, into upstairs wall outlet, identify cable from upstairs wall outlet in the closet, snip out of the junction box and splice into the input cable?
Appreciate any thoughts on this issue.
