so.... I think I'm starting to get addicted to this game, first ever extraction game that I can understand and commit to. I haven't paired up with anyone, but am enjoying the solo PVP interactions. and nomad, you're right --- it is about getting a drop on someone as opposed to what gear you have.

Been running free load outs on Stella to get better with my PVP fighting. As more and more people get comfortable, keep your head on a swivel for less friendly raiders.

- Wolfpack blueprints seem to spawn quite regularly on night raid DAM runs - check out Ruby Residence and those apartments in the NW. Was 4/4 on finding them at one point.
- UPGRADE THOSE WEAPONS. Kettle IV is pretty nice. I ran 3-4 Stella raids with it and was mopping up dudes
- Blueprints: Seeing folks on X suggesting blueprints seem more prone to drop on electromagnetic storm events. Haven't tested this out personally, but it 'feels' like they tend to spawn more often
- Showstopper grenades seem to be really effective against Arc and have seen folks use them regularly on the bigger guys (Rocketeer, Bastion, Bombardier)
- Prox chat continues to be hilarious and sometimes maddening at the same time. Every now and then you'll get jackasses that call you every slur in the book. I like to try and disarm my enemies during fights with funny questions and jokes.
- Sound - can't stress this enough but recommend playing Arc with headphones. Sound cues (especially solo) can really give you a leg up on unsuspecting enemies.
Downloaded this this week... I like it BUT I really hope there's more to it as I level up. Really seems like a grind... maybe it's much better if you play with a group regularly so it is more social beyond some random raiders each time

I believe the word for that is a RAT. Seriously though, the ARC are the enemy. I am friendly in solo, duo, and trios unless you shoot me first. I carry a stack of defibs to help other raiders. Tagging grenades are great for finding extract campers.

I had all the loot I needed plus some and got sniped just before hoping in the lift. Brutal.

Thats the only downside of going in with a free load out, your augment doesnt have a safe pocket if you find something good or needed
Idk what changed, but every single round tonight was just straight PvP in duos. We were just trying to kill bastions and bombadiers for final bench upgrades and can't even find one before dudes start blasting. Not even trying for our gear, getting sniped from rooftops on the other side of the map. Just pointless. Everyone interested in pvp is just running a free loadout and not having to risk anything. Meanwhile I have to spend 5 mins remaking my loadout every time just to get shot in the back 5 mins later. Ngl it is getting old quick.
Will an augment (kit) still work if I keep it in my safe stash?

Yea after I lose an organized loadout to something **** like getting snuck up on with a damn stitcher by a free loadout, it takes me a bit to get up the energy to build everything up again. Can take quite a while too. I lost a bunch of stuff from someone who just downed me while I was typing at the terminal to leave.

those are spawn campers.
rats are the guys you will probably never see, sneaking around the exterior to collect loot and raider bodies.
Rats hate even being spotted by other raiders, even if they are friendly. They are scavengers who pick at the corpse of late-game lobbies, and extract without firing a shot.
It never fails when I have a carefully crafted loadout I die. When I have a free loadout I live and loot freely.

I've only had a chance to fight back once when being attacked by another raider. Even a medium shield just isn't even close to sufficient to give you a chance. If you try to heal you're screwed. If you shoot back, they've already drained so much of your health that you're at too much of an attritional disadvantage.
PVP on trios is fun, though. Especially if you coordinate well as team. Solo PVP is crap unless you're the KOS type of person.

I had a guy shoot me in the back today but I was able to make it around a corner and heal up. We shot each other a few times and while he was healing I popped smoke and got out of there (I was at 25% health).
I got back on later and ran 2 raids. Killed 2 leapers and 1 rocketeer in those raids and successfully exfilled.

Is it just me, or is everyone super hostile now in this game? I turned off crossplay and it got worse. I had so many bad games last night.
1) Streamers make everything worse.
2) The people playing on Thanksgiving day, black Friday, etc are probably a higher percentage of edgelord ****waffles than normal.

I've given up on anything other than a free loadout for solo. Simply because of this. I work and have kids. I don't have time to be building up my gear every single freaking time I get KOS, which is now just an overwhelming majority of rounds.
Carrying a snitch scanner just saved my life. I was out of ammo and moving to exfil when someone started shooting me in the back. Dove behind a rock and threw the snitch scanner in their direction. Shortly after they were completely focused on all of the Arc that swarmed their position because they were in an open area, which allowed me to get away.

Free loadouts are a trap, because they have no safe pocket. If you find the best loot ever while on a free loadout, you're gonna be sweating bullets about whether or not you can extract. And if you get killed in the majority of rounds, that means that awesome blueprint probably isn't making it home.
For a while I was building loadouts out of whatever I had on hand. They were suboptimal, but if they were made up of stuff that was just laying around anyway, it wouldn't be too big a loss to use them. Now I've got lots of mats and some decent blueprints, so I'm mostly only taking in things that I can reliably replace.
Btw I also have a job and kids.

I was downed and somehow got thirsted before going back to Speranza in the Buried City metro when I was the one that pressed the actual button to extract.

I had the most insane extraction tonight. I was with two randos who both had mics so the game started out good with our communication and looting. One guy mentioned he had a raider hatch key so we all thought we'd have a super simple extraction. We end up looting lots of good stuff and avoiding another team of three without engaging, so we all head to the nearest hatch. At the hatch, there are a few hornets/wasps which distracted me and another teammate (the one without the hatch key). As soon as we kill all the arc, we notice our other teammate is missing. That little dbag extracted without telling us, and the hatch was now closed. Now we have about two minutes left and about 200 meters to travel to the nearest elevator. We manage to make it to the elevator and hit the button with 5 seconds to spare. Then the arc meteors or whatever start dropping and we're lucky the shockwave of a nearby one doesn't kill us. As the elevator gets to the top we're ready to run, but then we noticed a leaper crawling up on top of the elevator roof. We had a fun game of keep away from the leaper as we run circles around the elevator and somehow managed to get inside and hit the extract button without taking any damage!
I would've loved to have seen that!
So this is like playing DZ in the division but replace the bot factions with robots? Serious question, haven't cared much about this style of game in a long time but may jump in

What I find hilarious is the complete dichotomy of how my friend group sees their 'loot'
One guy - very Tarkov oriented said "It's not your loot, you're just borrowing it from someone else for a moment" Another guy - loves collecting and refuses to bring anything in because "It's mine and I don't want to lose it!"
I do think there is a strong correlation between the epic loot you bring in vs the types of players you'll run into. My buddy and I brought in our hullcrackers, epic combat augments, heavy shield, etc. to a Blue Gate run to fight a Queen, only to spawn in directly under a snitch and 2 players run up on us immediately. Think we were back in Speranza < 1 minute. While it sucked, all we could do was laugh and say "RUN IT BACK"
Nearing level 60 now and about to unlock SECURITY BREACH in the red skill tree. About 3/6 of the way to completing my extraction project. (HINT: START HOARDING COOLING FANS, LIGHT BULBS, HUMIDIFERS)
Night raids typically shoot on sight. Stella DEFINITELY shoot on sight. If you're wanting to improve your PVP, just run as many free kits into Stella.

I'm no where near that level, but I never know what to keep and what to recycle or sell. I think I have a couple cooling fans which I almost recycled today.
