I always get the gaming itch this time of year... guess the kid in me still lives. We have a PS5, a Switch 2, and still keep our old PS4 and PSVR in another room but no one plays them these days.
Given that my kids will often dominate TVs over Thanksgiving and Christmas break, I like the idea of playing something besides my iPad.
Have seen brief posts on this before (i.e. Steam Deck, etc.). Lots of options out there and some of the cooler stuff like a Steam seem great but I don't have a library of games I can immediately download. I will acknowledge I have done zero research on what it would take to obtain a game library for a Steam or the like.
A bit of research makes something like the R36Max handheld seem simple and straightforward. And it's not expensive.
Any strong opinions here? Am I being too short-sighted to only examine an R36Max and equivalents? Better options or experiences you have had?
