Good afternoon!

As the title suggests, I have an iphone backup from 2023 that I am trying to access but cannot figure out how. Long story short, I broke my phone a while back. I thought I had it backing up to icloud, but apparently did not. This is completely my fault.

The old phone had 10+ years of pictures and videos of my kids. Id like to get them back. I data-mined facebook and got some of them, but of course not all.

I have tried to restore the backup to a spare phone and itunes does not recognize the file. I have tried 3 party apps as well - same issue. I dont know what to do at this point.

I am current on all software and running Windows 11 on this machine. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Try on a Mac maby? Local library might have one to try on if there is no Apple store nearby.

Do you still have the broken device? Might be able to recover from it still depending on what actually broke on it. Those i fix your phone stores might be able to help in that case.

Try running a virtual machine sandbox environment emulation of latest Mac version or 1 or 2 back?

You lost me at the end.

My son has a MacBook - maybe I can get it on his computer (if I can figure out a way)

No need if you have access to a real mac. That was a way to emulate it on a Windows pc.
