Dad gum it....Sure is something caught in my throat and something in my eye......reading this. Just feeling for you my friend and I just took the time to give our labby a big hug and pet for Abbie!

When it is your time to leave this earth, OP, I bet Abbie is the first to greet you. I know that in my heart.

Howdy Ags; me again.

Bumping this thread for my red heeler, Kyle, who walked the Rainbow Bridge today, and who you may recognize from a photo above. Our boy made it 12+ years (we never really knew his age) before some kind of cancer finally slowed him down.

He was great to us, and great to the kids. They weren't old enough to remember Abbie very well, but I'm thankful that the end of Kyle's road was gradual and one we could celebrate...not nearly as urgent as last time.

Pet your dogs today and enjoy the Notre Dame game. BTHO the Irish and Gig 'em, Kyle.

You can look into that dog's eyes and see he had a great soul.

Sorry for the loss.
I’ve seen them play since way back when,
And they’ve always had the grit;
I’ve seen ‘em lose and I’ve seen ‘em win,
But I’ve never seen ‘em quit.

Sorry for both of your losses. They both look like they were great pups. you gave them both a great life. No matter how long you are fortunate enough to have a great dog in your life, it is NEVER long enough

That dog looked like he would run through a brick wall for you. Sorry, I held mine while she died, not at the vet but in the living room. If you know that you've done everything you can to make your dogs life better, never feel guilt, just grief and let it burn into you. Dogs are better than most people, even if they can't express it through language.

Sorry to hear. We put one of ours down last week. Never easy even when you know it is the right thing to do.
