I was in the pasture feeding cows with the inlaws when we saw a big black dog run across the pasture not even 50 yards from us. It wasn't a coyote or a neighbor dog. Very unlikely for it to be a wolf also (obviously). What could it be?

Didnt think of that. Haven't seen a black panther in years in these parts.

Anything that's a dog on my place and not mine or a friend's dog doesn't get the chance to run off.

The black ones are particularly fond of cattle and other stock. How long since the last one was spotted?

She has her kittens close by, she ain't going anywhere soon. The loss of life will be substantial. "Look at the blood !! "

Ha, you may not have but thousands of others have!

They can all tell you where screaming lady bridge is, where's there's legend of a ghost woman screaming for her child after driving off the bridge, but the locals all know it's a very selective calf-killing black panther.
