I had over a dozen hit the carcass I left this last Friday. They beat away the Turkey Vultures.

When I was a kid in the 90's I saw them at my grandparents in victoria all the time. I'm from east bell county and never saw them. They are multiple daily sightings now in east bell county. Probably started seeing them regular about 10 years ago.

Saw this out of my Kitchen window here in Kaufman county. Had to share here.

Caracara swooped onto something and moments later the hawk swooped in to run him off. They went back and forth and the hawk finally relented. The Caracara walked about 50 yards back across the field to his kill. Was glad to get see it and even more to grab some action shots through my zoomed phone and dirty window.

Assuming you are talking about caracaras, they have been in that area for at least 25-30 years now.

We never saw them growing up but when i moved back to Texas in 2010 they were very common to see.

I saw one near Mabank back around New Year's, so just a little south of where you are. I remember not that long ago they were rare north of Victoria.

I just saw one yesterday as I was leaving work in Katy on FM 2855. It was munching on roadkill. I saw it close so there was no mistake.
