I've been in the **** with bullets flying and my spidey senses kept my head down. My intuition is usually pretty damn good.

Either way a good reason to get the wife to the country which isn't always her favorite thing.

I'm working in the ER that day. But it's ok. There are no weapons allowed the hospital so I'll be safe.

Same as any other day. If it feels like a sporting day then may stick a carbine under the seat.

Knew a guy who was a big time hand-wringer. Left the Houston area and moved to Colorado, uprooting his wife and kids, his sister, his mother and a couple others all out of fear that bombs or rockets would hit the area because of all the refineries. That was like 25 years ago now.

So you're worried about something happening in DC and it having a catastrophic effect in Texas the same day??
That would be something apocalyptic like nuclear war.

And if you're that worried better go fire your AR ahead of time to make sure it works since it's been 4-5 years since you last shot it.

The stuff you're worried about could happen ANY day so you need to be prepared all the time!

If you haven't fired your AR in 4-5 years should consider shooting more and maybe taking a carbine course. Sheepdog also offers some couple defense courses.

I'm saying "carry and be prepared every day whether your gut tells you to or not".

You know what. Trust your gut. I'm sure all of us has had a premonition or two that turned out to be a good thing we listened.
It's your life. You do what you feel best. Your gut feel may be protecting you from something totally different than what you think.
And get you a suppressor for your AR so you can enjoy shooting it.
