Ditto for Mr. Litterst. I had the privilege of serving as his TA for a couple of years. Never a dull moment with him. One of the most interesting characters I've ever known.

I've run Brangus cows for over thirty years with a variety of bulls. Charolais, Hereford and Angus. I've settled on Angus for now. Not a big operation, just keeps me busy and I love the life!

The reference to your bull squeezing through the fence made me laugh. My neighbor has Longhorns and he invariably gets one or two black calves a year due to my bull "visiting" said neighbor's cows.

Yeah, I'm busted, but the neighbor said he gets more at auction for the black calves than the Longhorns!

The cows are fun to me and the boy. They get fed a sack of cubes 3-4 times a week because I like to and they all know the routine. Being profitable isnt the main goal here as is sharing something with the kid that I got to share in growing up before grandpa died and the herd & ranch was sold.

And there is your priceless profit.
