Wrong. Hurricane is under the Wind definition in homeowners forms, which is for all Wind losses, which is why homeowners carriers exclude all Wind for property that's on the coast where the risk of catastrophic losses are higher for Hurricanes. The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association is what provides all Wind coverage for most dwellings on the coast.
They name Winter Storms for industry loss / tracking and reinsurance payments. Most large convective events (tornado and hail) are given numbers.
