I've got an Aggie brother in Brazoria county in need of a get away. He's going through a hard time and needs some mind clearing. Myself and another Aggie in the Fort Worth area are wanting to plan a weekend getaway for the three of us - partially because we are overdue but also to help my buddy that's going through a hard time.

We are the fishing, hunting, and atv type guys. Our buddy in Brazoria county fishes a lot because he's so close to the water but he wouldn't mind to fish somewhere else down the coast.

I'm looking for ideas on where we can go or what guides we should contact for weekends in March. Budget probably $2k tops for the activity - so maybe a cheap exotic hunt, fishing trip on the Baffin, something along those lines. We can bring side by sides and would love to ride around a big ranch with a little hunting and fishing. South Texas, hill country, and maybe even central Texas are all options. Looking for a Friday - Sunday opportunity.

Thanks in advance!

that, or i know some outfitters with nice lodges you could buy an axis doe hunt on and have a few days relaxing. pig hunts in that range are good too, as you will get to shoot more than 1 animal.

Squirrel hunting and tent camping national forest. Full immersion around a campfire....
Or rent RV and do the same.
The planning and forethought will take him further away from his demons and replace with memories of the journey to get there much more than a catered lodge.
There are also areas that allow for your ATVs/SxSs..

Excellent point. All the getting ready can be a huge distraction for the better.

Do yall have a boat? Cabins for rent in the land cut are a lot of fun.
