Anyone ever did the Brazon kayak run from Lake Whitney to Waco?

We have family in that area and my son has always wanted to kayak down the Brazos from Laguna Park to Waco. The intent would be to take in nature, do a bit of fishing, and just see what we see. Curious if others have done this? I know we would need to look into the lake release schedule, etc.

Never done it but heard it is enjoyable and can be some great fishing.

I have done Whitney dam to Gholson in an airboat, back around 98-2000 and the Striper and Bass fishing was outstanding!!! Airboat was the way to go because of the low water but a canoe/kayak would be great as well.

We did it on our annual Easter week striper fishing @ Whitney.
