Hikers? They appeared to be VERY lost. Would have loved to hear that conversation.

I will be doing some hiking in Utah in about 10 days. I won't let myself get that lost. But, I also won't be trying anything that extreme.

Do the hikers have to pay the bill for the rescue?

How the hell did they get "lost" and then apparently stuck on the side of a steep cliff like that? Other than, well...

Box canyons trap the inexperienced sometimes. They climb down looking for a path and get stuck unable to go forward due to a cliff, or back because of a ledge they dropped down from.

"In a twist of fate, the hikers found a backpack left behind by another hiker previously rescued from the same area. Inside were food, water, and emergency blankets that the two were able to utilize."

They just need to install an escalator down there.
