I like the grain but maybe it would be better in a dining room table or a bar top.

I always wonder what you might find if you cut into some of the huge logs that wash up on the beaches. Gotta be exotic stuff that drifts in from all over the place.

Stopped and looked at a log on the beach today with big stainless pins driven into it. I assume as part of a logging operation somewhere. Cut at only about 6ft but probably 32" across.

as is usually the case, i just want to know what that box smells like.

I assumed most of that was pecan or cottonwood that wound up washing down the Brazos or Colorado and then finding its way back to shore.

Shine is fine but matte is where it's at.

I'm not a fan of gloss either.
