Thanks, I just read it. My first thought was I wonder how the Lehigh projectiles made for subs would perform. Have you heard or read anything on them since the last poster asked?
A couple of people mentioned to me that it might be helpful to turn this into one long form video instead of a playlist of all the individual tests, and of course the commentary I wrote up on this forum and arfcom with each video wasn't on youtube for people to read.
It took way too much of my time to do it, but I went ahead and listened and after a couple days of additional filming/editing, all tests are now consolidated into a single long form video with commentary.
I wore a mask because the internet is full of weirdos (I am one of them) and I don't really feel like putting my face out there to the world on this topic (or most topics).
My upload was timely. Garand Thumb just uploaded some super and subsonic gel tests with 300blk, including the 190gr SubX that did so well in our testing, and the 194gr leigh some of yall mentioned.
If I ever do more testing I will try out the Leigh load for sure, though I do wonder if it would open but fly straight through similar to how the 188gr selous performed.
Great job Bender! If you do more of these I have one suggestion from a specific moment in the video. When you did the Sig varmint tip out of the 9" barrel, you said you thought it hit high on the berm. This would have been a good time to to a replay of the shot where you could clearly see the impact right under the railroad ties. Do a cut and highlight that with a voiceover confirming it for the viewer.
This was a first attempt and it took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out how to insert pictures over the top of video/audio.
It woukd have been cool to highlight that, youre right that the impact is caught on the video…and I cringe thinking how long it would take me to figure out how to slow down the video or add in visual effects pointing it out.
