That is what I am hoping to bring mine back to, something I can eventually pass down along with new stories to go with the ones my wife had from her dad.

If you are in Houston, I recommend FELAND'S GUNSMITHING.

I want to thank Tex_Cowdoc for his work. I got it to him at a very busy time in a gunsmiths life, the season before deer season, and I got it back just after Christmas. While he was not able to restore it finish wise,he did make it mechanically safe and sound and was not kidding when he said it shot well. I have had it out to the range twice since I got it back and both times had offers made on it even without being refinished. Thank you Cowdoc for your efforts it is smooth and fun and a pleasure to shoot.
For anyone interested in a custom rifle his shop is amazing, the passion he shows in his work, and the knowledge he was willing to share, well lets just say I could have sat in his shop another few hours, but it was a long way home. Thanks again sir, and I will absolutely heed the advice given, and knowledge shared.

Outstanding! Glad you got hooked up with Cow doc. I have never met him in person but I would sure like to someday as he is so talented and a genuine good Aggie.
Hope you get many years of fun and memories out of your gun.
