Amen, 12B. Amen.
Yeah. "Recovered" and "rescued" are two similar sounding words with tragically different meanings. A little confusion in the heat of the moment is understandable.Quote:
I noticed yesterday that many people were confusing "found" with "found alive".
allgoaton said:So sorry for the confusion. The girls I posted about (Mary and Chloe, the counselor) were identified as recovered victims, likely not found today but confirmed today by families.swimmerbabe11 said:
those are the girls that were in the trees that chip roy wouldnt confirm? site is paywalled.

Everyone wants to be the first to spread the news. The guy on FB Live mentioned it. He heard it from someone, or misunderstood it from someone depending on where in the telephone chain he was.Ag13 said:OlArmyWalton92 said:
I just watched Louis Amestoy of The Kerr County Lead on News Nation. He said the story of two girls being found alive in the tree turned out to be 100% false and they've retracted the story.
I don't understand who is heartless enough to make a story like this up out of thin air. There are clearly so many families hoping for a miracle
Everyone is so eager to give and receive information. Unfortunately, in this case, it's not all correct.

I think it was fed in part by the 'we found two girls in a tree and they told us where to look', with another source saying they had found four bodies, then shortly thereafter they found six.
I suspect them finding two and then looking around and finding another four, kind of a now we know where roughly to look let's look around here type thing.
Everybody is just hoping against hope for any good news. I know I am.
My daughter has worked in the HEB Corporate office for 12 years. She told me their disaster response is so effective that the State of Texas relies heavily on them. I did some consulting for HEB about ten years ago and was incredibly impressed with their people and their processes.aggiesherpa said:
HEB disaster response is crazy. I used to work for a CPG company. I remember during Harvey they had staging ready to go, all deliveries being made to those areas and then telling companies exactly what to bring. It seems like simple planning and it is....but they execute next level.
I dont even have any more words to describe this anymore. Im just so sorry for the loved ones lost and the trauma the survivors have to endure.Juan Lee Pettimore said:

Not the problem; Here's a working link; it was missing the foundation portion.chickencoupe16 said:aviationag said:

I just got off of the phone with a client who had two little girls at Mystic. By the Grace of God, both are safe. His younger daughter was in one of the cabins next to Bubble (forget the name but it started with a C). He said some of the counselors were going cabin to cabin banging on the doors to get everyone to wake up. Everybody had been instructed though to stay put in the case of an emergency. However, the 17 year old counselor in the C cabin saw that they were about to drown and used her car keys to break the window and get all 15 girls out in the dead of night. They all had to swim about 100 yards to get to a non-flooded area, but then eventually had to hike even further up again barefoot in cactus and brush, pitch black to higher ground. She said that while they were climbing, they could see other campers in Bubble floating out on mattresses. They waited there until 11 am until they were finally rescued. The C cabin and the Bubble cabin were next to each other and the same elevation, but the only difference was that the C cabin counselor made the decision to break the window and lead them out before it was too late. So many heroes and so much bravery. She said that most of the girls were unaware of the danger and saying things like "I have to grab my retainer" but the counselor just forced everyone out before it flooded.
Must have been chatter box which is against the hill. The girls would have been able to exit and immediately go up hill. As I understand giggle and twins had waters swirling all around them

Different video - there was one this afternoon that was from a realtor in Austin or S. A. who was out working. You could see the responders leaning into the overturned tree.

For what it's worth, he really is one of the good guys in journalism. I'm sure no one feels worse than he does.

Camp Mystic on a bus to the reunification center. The girls are singing to try and calm everyone.

This is footage from the evacuation and everything they saw.

It only takes a spark
To get a fire going
And soon all those around
Can warm up in the glowing
That's how it is with God's love
Once you've experienced it
You'll spread His love
To everyone
You'll want to pass it on
What a wondrous time is spring
When all the trees are budding
The birds begin to sing
The flowers start their blooming
That's how it is with God's love
Once you've experienced it
You'll want to sing
It's fresh like spring
You'll want to pass it on
I wish for you my friend
This happiness that I've found
You can depend on Him
It matters not where you're bound
I'll shout it from the mountain top
I want the world to know
The Lord of Love
Has come to me
I want to pass it on
I'll shout it from the mountain top
I want the world to know
The Lord of Love
Has come to me
I want to pass it on
I'm getting lost in this thread but remember someone posting the account of the "swirling waters". You remember who that was?Lonestar_Ag09 said:Juan Lee Pettimore said:

Hold up, but seriously. How old were the girls in Chatterbox? 100 yards is 4x length of most of your aquatic center pools (unless they are olympic sized, then 2x) plus in the dark, plus in moving water.
I assume the 17 year old was herding back and forth to keep everyone grouped together.
That is incredible. besides the hike after.
edit: not doubting the story, I'm reiterating just how amazing that is in a time of crisis.

Did you watch the video? You really think it came from a different year? Hey, in the days of AI , I guess anything is possible but this sure seems legit.bthotugigem05 said:
That video is the exact thing we're talking about. It's a post from X, not a journalist, and could've been girls singing on a bus from years ago.
I'm not saying it's not accurate or true, I'm saying you shouldn't be so quick to believe everything you see, even if it aligns with everything you were hoping to see or makes you feel better.
it from a woman on tiktoc who posted about 15 videos of her evacuation from the camp. They weren't AI. It showed them leaving being supported by wardens and then their drive all the way out and to the bussesbthotugigem05 said:
