tbh I dont see anything wrong with that. he expressed his condolences asked for information and gave you his. it was respectful, polite, and to the point.

just say no thank you if you arent interested and request that he doesn't quote your posts. you cant stop him, but you can ask.

its not that complicated. we arent on a private forum.

Yeah, I don't really see an issue with it given he seems to be very transparent about his ask and isn't pushy about it.

True. He used his real name and was respectful.

I understand both sides of it.

He has a job to do and just wanting to find people who would like to tell their stories.

There is no good way to ask a family to speak about it.

and also, he's asking specifically for positive stories of heroism! who doesn't want that in their news media!! I know i did when I was watching the Appalachia coverage.

I can't stop putting myself in those cabins, in the dark, as the water continues to rise. I have two little girls myself, 6 yrs and 9 yrs, and I know how terrified they would have been. That look in your kids eyes when they are scared. I cant stop thinking about it.

I can't imagine what those parents are going through. It's not fair.

I just want to thank TexAgs for keeping our identities anonymous on here. So far my phone had remained silent.

Sorry but I personally wouldn't believe that for a second from a reporter. Trying to get his foot in the door. You have no control over what they or their editors end up putting in stories.

I have been doting on and hugging my young daughter more than usual after reading these stories. I can't even imagine how devastated these families are.

I saw this on a Joe Rogan interview, and it has really helped at times when I get frustrated with my daughter. He says that whenever you get frustrated with your kids, stop in that moment and imagine you're 80 years old and you have a time machine that is bringing you back to this moment, and it is the only moment you will get when they are this young. That has helped me several times when I am upset or frustrated with her, and I calm myself down by thinking about how I should cherish every moment I have with her, and my frustration and anger are more fleeting than the time I get to spend with her. I am not really sure why I am posting this, but hopefully it helps others like it has helped me.

That's the problem with him and his ilk -- the press conferences aren't enough for them. They have this insatiable need to get the scoop on something their colleagues/competitors don't yet have.

I love this so very much

I know the guy who posted it. He's one of the Bonfire advisors. Has or does sit on the board and is a poster here.

My wife just got this news from her boss:

Boss's cousin, his wife and two small sons were camping in an RV around Kerrville before going to pick up the daughter at Camp Longhorn. Their RV got washed away. They found the father deceased. Mother and two sons are still missing. The daughter at Longhorn now essentially orphaned.
