My step father in law went to meet Jesus and the girls of camp Mystic around 2:00 am. He leaves behind 2 daughters, 3 step daughters, and 5 step granddaughters. I am sure he is with the girls of camp Mystic right now making them them laugh.

And teaching them to fish.

Derm,

Prayers to you and your entire family over your loss. The sky over my house tonight was unlike any I've ever seen in Fort Worth. It was almost like I was looking at an inverted camera filter. I know the pink hues were in honor of your beautiful grand niece, Mary Grace. Heaven is even more glorious tonight with the presence of her and all of the beautiful souls taken from us far too soon

So supposedly they have found Mary Grace's body. Which is good for closure. Thank y'all so much.

Derm, I've been off of TexAgs for a few days. I've prayed so frequently beginning on July 4. I was glued to this thread with hope for a very different outcome for Mary Grace and all of the girls.

Know that our family will continue to pray for your family. Your nephew and his family will definitely be lifted up in our household.

May you all feel the comfort that can only come from God. May he fill you all with His peace.

My heart aches for all of the families and friends of these precious people lost in this storm.

UPDATE July 8th @ 8:30pm

While this is not the post I wanted to make it is a post that I hope will bring us one step closer to closure.

Amber's body has been recovered and officially identified.

Shiloh is still missing.

Please continue to pray and hold us and each other close to your hearts.

From the Wilson family. The father, Jeff, was found a couple days ago. Jeff was a teacher in Humble ISD for 30 years and had been on the SHSU Rodeo team.

Earlier today:

Quote:

Champion Saddle Bronc Rider, Shiloh "Stingray" Wilson's rodeo gear consisting of saddle, chaps, boots, vest ect. have been sent to Mr. Randy George of GbarG Bronc Saddles in Wyoming. Mr. George is the man who made Shiloh's custom saddle and has volunteered to restore it and his gear for us.
This man whom I've never met will forever be a part of our family.
Thank you to the Collins family for their assistance with this.

If any of yall need rodeo gear, Mr. Randy George seems like a good fella to go to.

It's heartbreaking to read about the dozens of families over and over again through search updates.

I just think about the events and wonder what it would have felt like trying to survive a river flood.

I appreciate and understand the warning but personally know several folks there and a donation will be happening. It is a respected local business that supports many, many causes. No, I don't know the actual percentage but will not frown on a business that will be providing support - no matter the size of the donation.

The child who relayed this info to her parents turned 10 this summer- so must be 3rd rising 4th? Not sure if they put cabins together based on age or on grade.
But this could also be a case of the child repeating something she heard other campers talk about in the elementary school post-evac as her own story as a way to make sense of it or a million other things. Just saying I heard that a child who was there said something along those lines to her parents.
With that birthday, a texas kid who turned 10 years old over the summer should be going to 5th grade in the fall unless she was held back a year. It very well may line up with that we know to be true about G being the only girl in her age group having been lost.

As others have mentioned, there are times that God seems to be speaking to us. Even though I have no personal connections to the flood, I have shed many tears over the last few days. Especially today as I see all of the posts with ribbons recognizing the girls' favorite colors. As my father and I went on our typical afternoon drive, God seemed to be speaking. It seems He is hanging ribbons for all. Continued prayers for all involved.

Sharing here because I know some of you are in direct contact with people who may be starting to make celebration of life arrangements. This event planner I've followed for years is offering her services free of charge. She also has a list of vendors from all over TX (venues, florists, caterers, etc) who are offering their services for free as well. Please pass this along to anyone who could use it.

Her instagram is @pearleventsaustin

I'm with you. No photo. No me. No mine.

Little loves were alone, scared, and died in a very traumatic way. I just can't with that reality. Phew, I pray for comfort and something. I don't know what. ****.

Concerning the question of helicopter type hit by a drone - might have been a Blackhawk.

https://kerrcountylead.com/drone-strikes-helicopter-carrying-kerrville-city-officials-during-flood-recovery/

The councilman in the video is a former Marine. I think he is speaking accurately.

Btw, the City Manager of Kerrville, Dalton Rice, was also onboard. (He's the guy in the ball cap speaking a lot at all the press conferences.) For those that may have wondered why Dalton was out on the river walk in Kerrville at 3am of the tragic morning, it's because it was his habit to be up at that time for his morning run. He is a 13 year Army Special Forces veteran ( you know, a real Green Beret).

As I mentioned on day one, he is sharp and we're lucky we've had him involved in this small town.

According to that article- there have been 2 collisions between drones and helicopters

I cannot imagine the absolute, unfettered hell of not knowing where my child was.
I pray they are found so the families can have closure. I was deployed to Del Rio in 1998 to do recovery and we weren't able to find everyone who was lost in the flood. It was profoundly heart wrenching.

Grew up in Del Rio. That night in August will always be burned in to my mind for as long as I live. My parents live a couple hundred yards up from San Felipe Creek in South Del Rio and we lost everything when I was in 4th grade. 5' of water in the house and we were not the closest houses to the creek. Some had water touching their 8' ceilings. We had to swim across our street and up a hill to our neighbors house to get out of the flood waters.

My dad's best friend brought a boat into to our neighborhood and they got about 20 different 75+ year olds out of their houses that were stranded making multiple trips in the little Jon boat. The homes below the creek were wiped away clean off the slabs. 25" of rain in 24 hours will do some major damage.

I hope these people from the Guadalupe flood can all be found to provide closure for their families. God bless everyone involved in this awful tragedy.

Totally understand. I'm new (brought here by the tragedy but my spouse was '96) and did have a disclaimer that it was third-hand information. I'm close friends with an extended family member of the child that told the story, so I'm sure it's like that game of telephone where the story shifts a little with each retelling. But it would be incredibly disrespectful to the girls and their families to have someone making a story up about how they were lost just for fun. Just wanted to put out there in case anyone had heard something similar.

My friend's daughter who told the story about the one girl going back for her blanket/animal is going into 5th grade, so maybe she was in Jumble Inn?

Rose of Sharon that boarders our yard. Jesus is referred to as the Lily of the Valley and the Rose of Sharon, representing many things, including hope.

The beauty of this vibrant pink bush was a welcomed reminder this morning. Prayers continued for all. Praying for rest for the weary, for comfort for the brokenhearted, that all will be found providing closure, for the communities as they recover and rebuild.
