How long do you want to ignore this user?
My neighbor and I share a bull that's way past its prime and are looking for a new one. Would prefer an angus. My neighbor may have questions about genetics but I just need something to knock my cows up.

Located in lampasas county but can travel a little bit. Any leads would be appreciated.

We bought our last angus bull from Monk Cattle Company in Stephenville.

https://www.monkcattlecompany.com

He's been the most gentle and well producing bull we've ever had. Chad Monk is the Owner. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.

You will get excellent bulls from GKB Cattle in desdemondia. They have a sale next month Oct 9 I think.
Their customer service is amazing

I'm not sure when you are needing to make the move, as we are sold out right now, but we raise registered Angus bulls between Weimar and Columbus. We will have breeding age bulls tested and ready to go in late February-early March. I'd be happy to help you out.

The elcampo auction yard special bull sale this spring averaged $7.5k for charlois bulls and the lowest sale price they had was $5.5k if I remember correctly, according to one of the owners (of the sale barn).

You should be able to pick up a suitable pasture bull for a small herd for around $3k or maybe a little more plus a fertility test.

If we are still looking at that time I'll definitely reach out to you. Hoping to find one very soon though.

I think we have about 35 head between the 2 of us.

Thanks everyone for suggestions.

Most of the bull sales I know of start beginning of Dec. Have thoughts of rotating some of mine since we are lacking tank water in our typical bull pastures before turning them back out in Dec.

If I get serious about selling how do I contact you?

I am lucky. We have a friend who raises Angus for a hobby. He lets us "borrow" a bull for a couple of years then takes it back and gives a new one. They are basically pets.

I don't know much about bulls, just that their work is never done.

We are sold out as well but will be weaning some Charolais bulls in November. They will be 8-9 months old and are selling for $5,000 (deposit is half selling price).
