While going out hunting before daylight around Hebronville this week, I noticed numerous entrance gates had this exact same solar powered light. The top side appeared to have solar panels. They really lit up the area and some had one on each side of the gate. I would like to try some at home but have not been able to find these on a google search.

Does anyone have these or something similar that's solar powered to recommend?

I suspect that is a Chinese light that someone bought on the internet. Go to amazon and and enter solar street light. Lots of options in the $1-200 range. I'm pretty sure that light is motion activated based on the sensor on the bottom. A light like that could not burn all night with the little solar panel and battery.

No idea on the battery size, but they were all on as we drove by each morning so I thought they must run all night.
Probably saw a dozen of this same looking light on different gates. Even wondered if perhaps the border patrol had installed them as they were in the vicinity of the Hwy 16 check station just south of Hebronville.

Did these ranches have electric gates, or manual get out of the truck gates? If electric, they are LED lights, but 120V, not solar. For a solar that would run all night, would be the ones you can find with external solar panels, about twice the size of the light itself, and they will have a notable bulge on the light, which is where a much larger battery is placed to power them.

So they were on nice looking gates as well as just regular, very remote pasture gates some of which did not appear to have electricity. I did not see wiring going to any of the lights I photoed.
I'll add another out in a very remote pasture which had a unique looking camera setup in an area where they have had lots of theft After the windmills went in.
That light is facing away from me and you can see its solar panels.

The ones I'm seeing on amazon run at 30% until motion is detected and then run at 100% for a time

I just ordered a pair to try out for $200

If you have the scratch for an entryway like that to a ranch down there, you aren't getting out of the truck to open the gate.
