I need details...was this a non lactating sow? I've heard get them on ice after cleaning ASAP.

I smoked a 40-45lber whole last year and couldn't really eat the ribs due to lack of meat. The shoulders and hindquarters were great though!

Not sure if the pig was lactating I didn't suck on her teets.

She was about 100 lb sow.

Mustard binder, typical Texas pork rub, smoked for 4 hours at 250, put down butter, hot sauce, brown sugar & honey on the foil and let it got another 2 hours.

Tasted like every other store bought rib ever ever done but just wasn't pretty lookin & less meat

Easier and tastier to buy big thick juicy baby backs and enjoy the hell out of them -

Those Asians in Houston will eat the hell out of wild hogs if you want to bring them the hogs - they tear them up and will take as many as you can deliver. We used to give them hogs and doe- they liked any kind of wild animals- the dude wanted snakes and coons

Yeah but it's more rewarding to kill, skin, & butcher your own with a cartridge you hand loaded

Most of the hog ribs I have access to look like Paul Harrell's used meat target ribs.

I've never been impressed by the ribs on ferals. Just not enough meat to mess with them. And 100-125 pound pig is my eating size limit

We just needed a place to get rid of doe under a managed high fence - they were perfect to take all the does and we would give them some hogs too for the hell of it - they loved it.

We never cooked any of those hogs - been there done that - don't need all those fleas and ticks jumping on me to get some pork- HEB does that for me now !

I never understood the "small pigs taste better" thing.

Big fat grain fed sows are always great
