Never been there before and will be there the weekend of Nov 15th. I've fished Costa Rica with great success. I want to target tuna, wahoo, or durado. It looks like you're allowed to bring fish home from Cabo if it's flash frozen? Anyone over done this?

We're staying at the Hilton Cabo Azul and I'm looking for a guide for a half day. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Search function has a ton of info
We went last November
Fished 3 days. 2 with Pisces and 1 Jaime rendon. Caught stripes day 1, roosters trigger and a couple small mahi day 2 (mahi were gone for some reason), then 2 monster tuna day 3
Brought home 100 lbs tuna

The owner lives/works out of Georgetown, TX. His name is Toby Nunn and he's a highly accomplished Veteran. We limit out on dorado every year. We catch multiple black marlin, tuna and wahoo as well. Great owner and crew. Fishing there in 2 weeks myself.
I bring my backpack cooler and the fish are flash frozen. No special paperwork needed. I carry it on the plane and store it overhead. They do a quick check to make sure it's all frozen. He also owns a bar in the marina that has plenty to drink and he's only a few spots down from Griselda's. They will filet, vacuum seal and flash freeze and store it for you. They will also cut off as much fresh as you want to take it to the restaurants and they will prepare it any way you want it. I recommend the Tiki Hut restaurant.
We catch these all day!

I second MarVida. Silent co-owner is an Aggie. Will be fishing with them next week.

We are heading there tomorrow and fishing with Pisces as usual. We normally book on the Valerie, but this trip was planned last minute so the Tracy Ann was all that was available in our price range. This is our first time in the fall, but we've never failed to catch fish even in the off season.

when we fished there last year we fished valerie one day and tracy ann the next. No real difference in the boats and captains and deck hands on both were great

should still get into some good mahi...maybe tuna too...and I'd think the reef fish will be good. Not sure this time of year what its like as it is almost about to transition

Tracy Ann put us on fields of tuna!! and they were HUGE. brought home a 127# and 139# to the dock

Yep...as has always been stated. Cooler backpack with frozen fish; carry on and you should have no problems! I couldn't believe it was that easy.

We've had a good experience with this group: https://www.cabosportfishingcrew.com/

We had so much tuna we bought 2 coolers at Walmart and duct tape.
Took to airport....weighed....opened for agent to see inside....thumbs up....then wrapped with tape to keep from opening in cargo. Was super easy

We are fishing the Tracy Ann Thursday. 2nd time on that boat, but we were focused on Roosters that day. You get a little more room and a little less Diesel fumes on the Val. Just getting picky at that point, they are both great.

We are taking my mom on a guided bay trip next week for $250 more than Cabo offshore. Viva Mehico

Thanks everyone for the great leads! I'm getting pumped!

What is the appropriate amount of tip and sharing of fish with the crew? My first time fishing down there.

I'd say the tip is the tip (15-20%) and if you want to share fish that's a bonus but don't feel bad keeping it all.

Yesterday only came up with 2 Tuna. Raised 2 blue marlin, but couldn't get them to bite. La Brisa had 5 marlin flags and 3 tuna.

Coming back from our dive trip today the Valerie had 12 flags up. 8 Mahi, 1 Marlin, 3 Tuna. The Valerie is a more comfortable boat than the 31' Bertrams. Hopefully we can plan the trip sooner next time because Valerie is going to be my go-to going forward

31 Bertrams are a battlewagon, but they are definitely not the most comfy rides. They roll, pitch, and overall just don't have the length to overcome the shortcomings. But they will get you there and back no doubt about it, weather and conditions be damned.

To be fair, this storm is not all that uncommon, and Cabo bounces back super quick. It's amazing, actually, how quickly they can return to normal. I only noticed cause I'll be there next week.

Yep. We are flying there this Friday. Hoping the weather on Saturday isn't as bad as the forecast!

Anyone staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach? We've now done trips to One and Only Palmilla, Chileno Bay, Fiesta Americana, Hacienda Encantada, and Sunset. Sunset has been the best experience of them all both times. I doubt I'll try anywhere else going forward

If you like Sunset, and have the budget for it, the Estates at Montecristo are hard to beat.

OP, if you're still looking for someone, these guys are outstanding!

I have a friend with a house there and uses them at least 12 times a year. I've been fortunate enough to join him twice and we have had great success both times. The Hilton Cabo Azul is a very short drive from the dock where they load out in the mornings.

Owner is from Houston and loves A&M.

They work their tails off to put you on fish. His equipment is top notch and the boat is in great working order (AC, bathroom, etc).
