Heading up to Tishomingo at the end of November to do some fly fishing. Does anyone have a guide they recommend for the Blue River there?

Blue River is part of a WMA and it is illegal for anyone to be a guide there.

It's very possible that I didn't fish the right area, but when I was there years ago, it was nothing but slow moving deep water.

the closest thing i've seen to a guide up there is stopping at Scotttys and asking where they're biting and what they're biting on. and even still it's a hard place to figure out with the best spots being a pretty good hike in. With the lack of rain you're going to have stagnant water and it's going to be tough.

there are a couple of historical posts on reddit if you want to try that but i'm guessing they're outdated.

either way, let us know how it goes. take pics.

Also note that non Oklahoma residents must check in and out of the Blue River and all Wildlife Management Areas this year using an App.

I recommend to keep an eye out for when Oklahoma begins their winter stockings for trout. Last year it was not until December due to warm water temperatures.
