I was coming to y'all for advice. I trust yall more than online research. My search didn't see this one specifically.

Looking for an ankle carry pistol. One website had it as the #1 recommended.

Plus I think this would be a better option when I'm jogging.

Thank you.

I would look at the Smith Wesson Bodyguard 2 and at either a Fanny pack or enigma holster for jogging/working out.

I also love the Hill Peope Gear packs

I saw that thread from Tandy and that was great information. My everyday is Glock 19. I think that will be a little too big and comfortable out jogging. Not a fan of my Glock 43 so it maintains a lonely life.

The Keltec is a good gun but I doubt you will find many accessories/holsters as it was discontinued. Have you looked at the Ruger LCP? It is very similar, and available in several different versions dirt cheap. Also the LCP has more holster options out there than you can count.

No experience with the keltec, but I bought a Bodyguard 2.0 after reading the last thread.

I only have a hundred rounds through it, but it's hard to shoot (for me). I'm sure it's the Indian and not the arrow, but damn. I need more range time with such a small pistol before I can carry it. That Keltec might be worse.

Never had an issue with a pistol before like this. Pretty sure it's the short length of pull that I need to train around. I'm comfortable shooting a P365 out to 25 yds, and can't hit a barn from 10 yds with the S&W.

I have a P3AT that is probably close to 20 years old. It has functioned reliably for the entire time I've owned it. The one malfunction it has suffered was a failure to cycle completely, when used by a friend for the first time. I told him to tighten up his grip, and he had no further failures. I don't carry it any more as I went to a G42, and then on to a S&W BG 2.0, but I certainly would not hesitate to carry it if the need or desire arises.

That being said, I would agree with the suggestion to consider the LCP (I think there is a 2nd generation model). But if you do end up with a P3AT, be aware that the ejector is a separate and very small part that is held in place by the slide, and when the slide is removed from the frame and the frame is turned upside down, the ejector will fall free from its little receptacle in the frame. Because this piece is so small, you will never hear it hit the carpet.

The Ruger LCP (single stack), or my preference, the LCP Max (10+1). The Ruger trigger was my #1 reason to go with it (and establishing reliability).
IMO, the Ruger trigger allows accuracy the other brands don't, because of the atrocious triggers.

P3at with a belt clip/clipdraw is very concealable. p32 with a clip installed is functionally invisible. Glock 42 is bigger but much more accurate, controllable, and fun to shoot.

I wrote that wrong. I want to also carry inside my boots. When I was thinking about the size I thought that might be better than my Glock 19 to carry while jogging.

I hope that clarifies things.

I could never get 100% reliability out of my P3AT. When the Ruger LCP hit the market, I got one. Other than some Remington ammo (that had a REALLY flat/truncated nose), I've never had an issue with it.

I would recommend a Ruger (or a S&W Bodyguard) and avoid the KelTec, based on my experience.

Appreciate it. Going with S&W

What's wrong with your 43? I have loved mine since I installed a flat faced trigger.

Just could never get comfortable. Size was too much of a step down. I spent a lot of time with the M9. That size was what I'm most comfortable with.

For years I had to find a pistol that was actually comfortable in an ankle carry holster inside my western boots when I worked boat shows and trade shows.
One of my team guys that worked for me was a DPS CID major. Lots of the troopers and investigators wore the Smith & Wesson 340PD as backup guns in ankle holsters in their boots. Weighing around 11 ounces it is light as can be. It is a .357 but does really well with .38 Special Plus P ammo.
I bought one and used it that way for a long time. I carried a speed loader for it in my dress jeans pockets or regular jeans.
