I ordered a "modified" choke for a Benelli Ethos 12 ga shotgun. The packaging says Modified, Modified is imprinted on the side of the choke...everything says modified. But, there's no notch code on the rim of the tube...Modified (I thought) would have 2 notches. My existing IM has 1 notch.

Thoughts?

From Benelli? My Modified is 3 and IM is 2, but they're a few years old.

My factory M from Benelli has 3 notches

Apparently this is a change implemented by Benelli on newer chokes produced. They now etch the choke name on the choke side (confirmed at Sportsmen's Finest in Bee Cave).

Yeah all that information is etched on my chokes. Mine are however older so still have notches too.

Mod is pretty tight for steel. I have an Ethos BEST and normally run IC or LM in it if shooting steel.

No clue where you are hunting, but if the birds are decoying well, Mod will be very tight.

Near Lubbock. Also carrying IM if they're flying a little higher. Following the reco of the folks that have hunted them for years out there.

I was in Big Spring last weekend and heard wave after wave around sunset.

I love hearing the beautiful melody of the Sand Hill cranes in West Texas.
