I need to upgrade equipment from NH 488s.

Looking for a 12 or 13 ft center pivot to cut coastal and sudan.

What would you suggest? Central Texas. My experiences with the multiple Deere, NH/Case, and Kubota dealer are all equally unimpressive. There is a Vermeer guy close but no experience with him.one of the Deere groups also sell Krone and the other Kuhn.

Looking for either new or barely used with personal knowledge on the used side if you know of something. I have enough "projects".

Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!

We prefer the Kuhn cutters. Great part inventory and quick availability when ordered thru the local JD store.
Buy new if you have enough projects.

What are your thoughts on the centralized oil system vs each gearbox having their own fluid (NH and Vermeer)? And shear hubs at each gearbox?

A good point to bring up. The JD I have worked on is quite a project if any metal loss occurs in the "cartridges" because they're all joined you have to remove them all & flush them all out to be sure you get all metal out. Say if a gear breaks or something.

Iirc we are on the 4th Kuhn cutter and have never had a problem with the bar/ oil. Even though it has a lot of acres and years, we kept the used one when we bought another a couple years ago.
Kuhn is by far the most popular in our area
