Thickness of tail resembles a large cat. Look at other lion pictures and then that one of the tail. Sucks it did not catch the picture a second sooner
I know. I wish the trigger was a little quicker. I'm always skeptical, but it looks a little like a big cat to me

When I saw "Serengeti" I immediately thought "well it's a lion of course". Then I saw the location was Texas Panhandle and said, "well, still could be an African lion".
I put it on my large monitor and zoomed and enhanced and it didn't look like it. Hip muscle confirmation don't appear right either.
Obviously a black panther that identifies as something else. I don't think some of you folks are ever in the outdoors.
Thinking about the dog possibility… I'm not saying it's impossible that it's a dog, but this is pretty far from any houses and we haven't seen a dog out there in the 10+ years we have hunted that spot

Mountain lion would have a black tipped tail. This isn't a mountain lion. You Don't need to see the animal. Look at the end of the tail…. No black tip, no mountain lion.
