Duck hunting wader recommendations needed

We were planning to list our house last spring, started getting ready for it by moving a bunch of crap to a storage room and one of the things I moved in first was a lot of my hunting gear. Well we decided to push it off to this spring instead, and so now my hunting gear is pushed to the back (along with the Christmas decorations). I can work around everything else except the wader issue. I need those.

So with all of that said, what waders would you buy for this season, knowing that you have another pair for next season? I guess I'm looking for middle of the road quality here. Nothing real cheap but not top of the line either.

And the reason I am just now asking is because I have gotten to where I am almost done even trying in the first split these last few years. Too warm and no ducks where I go.

Thanks for the help.

What type of duck hunting do you normally do? On the coast, in duck ponds (shallower), in flooded timber? And where are you hunting (geographically)? Trying to determine material construction.

Personally, I would look at a pair of Roger's breathable with the zip in liner and built in zipper. I will never buy another set of duck hunting waders without a zipper.

That is good to hear, I just ordered a pair of them on black Friday sale.

I ran them for about 5 seasons before moving over to my Sitka ones. They worked out great for me and only switched because they started leaking at the seems.

Hunting North Texas and East Texas. River bottoms in East Texas (Harrison/Gregg counties) and then walk in at Cooper and Tawakoni.

I wore a pair of Drake neoprenes for years that I sweated like crazy in during the first split and then was happy I had them in the second. Had to get rid of them before last season once my leak repairs were no longer repairing leaks.

And for the life of me I can't remember what I bought last season because it was on the fly. I do remember being told the zipper ones were great but they weren't in stock and I was going in a couple of days so had to go with what I could find.

I'd look at these:

https://rogerssportinggoods.com/rogers-elite-nxt-zip-2n1-insulated-breathable-wader/

You can zip out the liner and they're breathable for normal hunting and the handful of hunts a year when it's really cold, you can just zip it back in or layer up.

If you don't care about the zipper, they make similar models that are cheaper.

You must spend a mortgage payment + vehicle payment on waders like Kuiu/Sitka/First Lite to kill ducks.

In all seriousness, I do what SGrem suggests, Simms G3 stocking foot waders and some wading boots. Dual purpose duck hunting and wade fishing.

Avery's are on sale right now, bought them for a handful of hunts last season and they are still holding up well. Would be good for what you need

The OP already has a set of waders and just needs a pair to get through the season. I would have happily thrown out those options had he not mentioned that.

Rogers or even Frogg Toggs will suffice. Then keep as a backup or loaners.

I fish in Simms and hunt in Roger's on the coast.

Have pair of Roger's breathable bootfoot with liner (no zipper). They were cheap and serve purpose if its cold.

Have Simms Freestones without zipper and boots that I wade fish in and wear early season on the coast. They also travel well...

I just bought my son breathable Cabelas brand from Mack's Prairie Wings for $250. I'm on my 4th season wearing them.
