Not well enough when you go to buy stuff. Fertilizer and machinery are terribly high.

Coupled with the drought it's no fun.

The wildlife exemption is reducing the cow herd, as is the oil boom and drought. Many old timers are hanging it up with noone wanting to replace them.

The farm and ranch community has the same problem we all have with price increases or 'inflation'. My wife beeches every month paying the bills. Especially water and electricity.

But for all the problems you mentioned it's nice to know that for the ranchers, it's a good price season. Helps them catch up a bit.

Christ. Even with prices like they are now, it's going to take a bit to work out 4200 a head.

Putting things in perspective as Joe Paschal likes to do. He states price a pound of potato chips and it runs about $30 for what? At least in beef you are getting something nutritious and quite tasty.
