Melissa and I went to a Mexican supermarket on Buford Highway earlier. On the way we stopped at El Rey Del Taco for lunch. After we finished eating, when the waitress brought our check I asked her if they sold their homemade corn tortillas by the dozen. We told her we were from Texas and we had tamales shipped for Christmas Eve. A young man sitting at the table closest to us said "where in Texas? I'm from McAllen." I told him Pearsall.
We ended up having about a 30 minute conversation. He said he's been working in Ohio at a refinery but is headed home for Christmas. He orders tamales from Delia's too. We talked about good Mexican food in South Texas, mollejas and tripas. It was a cool experience.
