Hwy 71 eastbound right before you cross the Colorado there's an led sign on the right side of the road. It always reads numbers. Does anyone know what these numbers refer to?

Water level on the Colorado River. My uncle's place is on the right as soon as you cross the river eastbound.
I'm amazed this was answered in under ten minutes.

That's west of the river. There's not much there now, but I know what you're talking about.

You should see the setup in "the hole" across the bypass from that spot. Thats the spot i hunted with brothers and their buddies back in the 1990s. Man we killed some ducks in there back then. The guys who used to hunt that spot you can see from bypass now owns big outfit down in eagle lake.

I believe it's actually the rate of flow of the river. That does usually loosely translate to depth, but I believe it's like the cubic ft per second of flow.
Here is the LCRA hydrometer. I can go by tomorrow and see what it is and see if it matches the stage number or flow. The read out would be roughly 6.xx on the sign if it's the flow. That number on the sign is usually under 4.00 unless a rain event up river.

I'm gonna say it's the stage number because it read 4.4 if I remember correctly
Just crossed the river bridge and It showed 4.55. It is the stage reading on the hydrometer. Case closed OB. What other problems can I help solve today?
Convince your uncle to have me over there to help him shoot his limit of dove?

Ha- it's been slim pickins around Plum this year unfortunately. I'm sitting in the tree farm on Drisdale trying to kill a handful for atleast a meal. Our 2 year old will eat 3 on her own so a meal for the family these days is a few more dove than it used to be.
Brother hunted corn field near flatonia yesterday-said there were flocks of 50-60. Only two guys and they needed more to keep them moving-but I'm focused on deer this last weekend. Had two of my shooters within 20yds last night but didn't get a clean shot. Wind will be right again tomorrow.
When I was at A&M I used to haul my kayak down to plum park and paddle up stream to fish. Would tear up Guadalupe small mouths on that stretch. I would always check that gauge to see what the river levels were. I believe the state record was caught not too far from there. That's a great stretch of river.
