10K view, looking for a 6-8 person lease, max 4 hr drive from central Houston area. Trying to stay clear of East Tx because majority of Hunters are in Central Tx area.

More looking for suggestions on how to even begin to look. I have not had to look for a lease in over 30 years. But all good things do come to an end.

Thank you in advance

I think your post here is a good start. You may want to add a potential budget. Back when I was on FB I know there were a few groups dedicated to finding deer leases but no idea how effective they truly were.

If I were looking for a long term lease right now, I'd probably start calling everyone I know that has a deer lease and see if they have openings or if they know of anyone in the areas they hunt that also lease out places and start calling landowners or ranch managers. Another thing I have heard works well or maybe did back in the day, is calling local feed stores and asking if they have any leads on deer lease openings.

You could also look into some of the bigger property owner names like Briscoe. I know they have several leases around us (and all over the state) but I have no idea how to contact the ranch managers or whomever handles the deer hunting.

Not sure I provided anything of value but just thought I would add my two cents. Good luck!
