It's taken since July to finally get here but the Abel reel I won got here today. I plan to take it to the Fish Hawk here in Atlanta tomorrow to get a fly line. I look forward to using it soon.

Abel certainly makes a beautiful reel. I have several of them. I just got that same reel in northern lights. Man jewelry for sure but I like them!

That's pretty slick. I've got two Abel Super 7/8's in black and a slick custom redfish Rove 7/8/9, all for salt water use. They are rock solid reels. You'll love yours. For those of you who don't want to drop that kind of coin, Ross reels are made in the USA in the same factory as Abel's. They are a great mid tier reel price wise that perform like a high end reel. I think all Ross reels are sealed drag though, but not 100% sure on that.

All my other reels are Ross EVO LTX. This is the first reel I've owned that costs the same as my rods.
