So, I went to the range today testing out some ammo in the 8" barrel before I swapped over to the 12.5" barrel.
Two of the cartridges were relevant to this discussion.
120gr tac-tx by bonefrog ammunition loaded in a brass case.
120gr tac-tx by phantom defense loaded in a nas3 case.
Same bullet, same gun, different cases and manufacturers.
The Phantom Defense load in the nas3 case was moving ~257fps faster. Pretty impressive.
What's really crazy is how that compares to a similar load from my 12" 6.5 Grendel.
That 120gr Tac-Tx is moving less than 13fps slower from an 8" barrel than 123gr ELD-M from a 12" 6.5 Grendel. Wild.
I rebarreled the minifix this afternoon, really excited to see what kind of numbers the 120gr does from the new 12.5" barrel.
