I need to price check something, figured this is a good place to do so.

Here is the scope..... trench and conduit are already in place, so not needed....

210 feet of wire for 100amp
breaker box
12 LED UFO lights
10 quad plugs
4 switches
all run in MC, building size is 75x60

Just need a quick ballpark price thought.

Is the 210 ft a service line from transformer to breaker box ? What gauge wire is it ? Aluminum or copper ?


Did a barn like this but it was only 1600 sq ft and was back in 2021 when wire was cheap. Also the service run was close to 700 ft and the wire for that was crazy back then

My advice is set the service up to run a 200 amp panel in case use changes down the road

this is just taking power from house to barn/shop.

Well i just ran 336 ft of 3/0 and #4 ground

And the wire was 5600.00

And once we figured out the wire pulling machine it went okay

But is was 5 of us for 4-5 hours but 90-120 min of it was trying to figure it out

What size is your conduit

I am not a electrician but think I am (well actually I am a laborer that have electrician friends ) and they talk me thru it

i have had the same experience. I didn't have a machine, but I followed instructions as closely as I could. Apparently, the way I tied it on with the pull line was not correct and it just kept jamming up. It was awful. Took me all day.

Wow. I know the UFO's are $200 each. I provided the lift, the trench and conduit material and labor. They just pulled the line, and then installed the panel, lights, MC and plugs. Then hooked it into a breaker at the house.

So you were not asking how much would it cost

You were asking did I overpay

So how much did you pay and who did it

It really does not matter if your happy with the work

Its when you are unhappy and overpaid is when I get upset

trust but verify. thats all it is. Happy with it, just ran super tight on budget on the project. Thanks for all the information.
