Got tired of having small engine carb issues every couple of years so decided to try electric several years ago. Went with Kobalt, the Lowe's house brand, for electric lawn tools - and I LOVE them. Have the mower, weed eater, hedge trimmer, and blower. All are several years old and run like new. Each came with a battery but I only use one tool at a time so I constantly have three in queue on chargers.

If you go the gas powered route, don't ever put ethanol in it or you will be just like this guy. Pure gasoline is now readily available everywhere. Use it in your small engines. Worth every penny.

Any Home Depot or Lowe's carries it…as does every lawn and landscape company.

Honda stopped making mower engines. They announced it and then had a recall so they decided to make some more to push through the recall. that has been awhile back, so there are not many left.

California Trimmer…Honda engine there.

Current Toro Guaranteed to Start is a piece of junk. I've hated it almost since I bought it. Lower power, crap design leaking oil into the air filter. Went to do my annual February low cut on my Bermuda and it just isn't long for this earth.

I want a high powered, low cutting, bagging, mower. Good for my Bermuda.

My gripe with my ego is it gets caught up on grass that's too thick.

I cut many a yard with one just like this my dad had when I was a kid. No ethanol gas worries, no battery worries.



Get the cool height adjustment mechanism.

Find a used Honda w/bag. I bought one years ago with the polydeck and it still starts on the first pull! Adjustable wheels still work. Only had to adjust the linkage to the direct drive after some time for the self propel from a little stretching.

Bermuda here as well. I have an EGO LM2200SP. It cuts great at 1" which is the lowest setting. Wish it could go lower. I can mow a little less than half an acre in an hour on 1 battery charge.

Haven't researched yet but I'm interested in considering a robot mower for my Bermuda if it can mow at 1". That way it can mow multiple times per week and really help the yard thrive. Anyone go this route yet?
