I'm redoing an 8N now for nostalgia, but learned to tractor on one.
Just missed on a 4020 recently, man I let a deal go by on that one. Had about 1500 hours on a factory rebuild. Funny thing is he wanted $20k for it. They were not that much new. I'm still shopping for one, I love the simplicity is hard to beat.
And no cab for me. I've spent weekends with door open when AC went out and sweated thru the swirling dust. I'll take a simple canopy, they don't break.

Yea but that open canopy don't stop ground hornets when you shred over them. and I'm tired of eating dust. Got two machines with cabs…….never have had a/c quit on mine.

This is one reason I'm looking at a cab tractor too. I've eaten enough dust and weed pollen in my life, I'm tired of it honestly. Every time I mow in the springtime it gets my allergies and I end up getting sick from it.

Keep 40+ hp for shredding and general stuff. Skid steer is very valuable to you with for that property your devrloping. No JD or bobcat brand. JUNK!!!!. Go with CAT! 100 hp or up with high volume hydraullics. Wont regret!

I'm not worried about ground hornets. In my country we only have killer bees. My north neighbor actually shredded himself when he jumped off to get away from bees. I'll take a little dust.

Back in 70's I was working on a ranch in north central Kansas. Fed silage every morning. Got drunk or high or whatever from silage fumes in the cab. Bad headache later when the high wore off.

A different way of looking at it: Unless you are making a living or really enjoy running equipment- rent a skid steer or hire it done.

You can wind up working on equipment & keeping it running more than enjoying life.

Took me 60 years for that to sink in keeping three tractors running and a large collection of used equipment.

Some day count the number of tires you own - on everything. Betcha it's more than 50. Mine was much higher.

I'm around 50 on vehicles and another 12 on trailers. Not going to tell my wife about this exercise…

OP, just post a picture once you get your tractor. I picked this TL10V2 up in late 2024. But for shredding/hydro-axing/concrete breaking, I hire those uses out on a machine that I don't own. They cause way too much wear and tear, and create an uncomfortable and jarring day for the operator. So, for your desire, I agree, get the tractor and hire out skid steer work as needed.

Well now I'm depressed thinking about all those tires I will be buying….

I listed my tractors and skid steer above. The 6615 is going on 11 years old, the 580 Case is well over 25 years old and my skid steer is approaching 8 years old. Only my 3032 is relatively new with low hours. One or two of them are used daily but all are used once a week at least.
I am a stickler for proper maintenance and greasing at the end of each day's work and keep the correct fluids and filters changed as hours require it.
I seldom have to work on my tractors or skid steer and only the Case has ever been in the shop since I've owned it.
So if you buy quality equipment and take care of it maintenance wise they won't be maintenance nightmares and taking all your time up working on them.

Let's talk tractor attachments for 70ish HP tractor. What ya got and feel like you couldn't do without?

For my 43 HP Kubota I have:
6' shredder
60" grapple
Pallet forks
Gopher poisoner
60 gal boom sprayer
100 gal non boom sprayer
Fertilizer spreader
Heavy duty bucket
7 ft rear blade
6 ft disc harrow

If you go the 7060 route, add wheel weight or ballast or both to that list.

I didn't and wish I did. Weights are soon to be added.

I don't know how that tractor can be so light in the rear, but it is.

I have about 25 acres that is pretty heavily wooded. I live on a river where it turns into a reservoir. They are adding 35 feet of water to the reservoir and I'm going to lose about 4 acres. Stinks because I had a nice flat sandy area that is going to get flooded. I had other stuff the way I liked it too.

I was thinking about buying a skid steer for a while so I could move some stuff around and get ready for the new set up. Then I'd sell it after I got stuff like I liked it. But I think I'll take your advice and just rent or hire it out.
