Howdy, Thanks to all the Ag's that gave good advice on negotiating a new vehicle deal. The process was not all as easy as it seemed to be in the past, or maybe this time armed with good information I was not a dumb about the deal.
1. First Walk Out: After 30 minutes of all of the here is what it is and what you have got to trade this is our number. Wow! That is NOTHING like the number we had discussed on the phone, and with none of the discounts on your web page. At this point, just said, Thanks there is no way I will agree to that, stood to leave. An hour and one half later, after multiple visits to the Sales Manager, they always do that, FINALLY got to the number, so now it has been 2 1/2 hours.
2. Second Walk Out: So you have the deal, then go to Finance where the like to really do the damage. Knew, of course, owed tax, title and license, and those are fixed charges, no negotiation, fine. Guy spends and hour typing stuff into the computer and FINALLY gives me the paper with the amount of the check to write. BOOM! It is $5,000 more than it should be. Look off the paper and on the back page of all of the listed charges is this $5,000 item for this complete warranty and service stuff. I was about worn out of dealing at this point and said I will pay the amount less this five grand of stuff I do not want, if you insist on this amount, I am out of here. Another 30 minutes of typing and the five grand was gone.
Got what I wanted, Thanks to y'alls help, it was not real fun or easy, but got it done.
