My previous job was managing the plant where most the wild pigs that are caught and sold in Texas go to enter piggy purgatory. We would regularly get a pot belly cross with the wild ones. We would average at least one a week. Unfortunately, they had to be dispatched and thrown away because we could only label and sell animals that meet the characteristic traits of a wild boar.
Obscure, useless fact for the day: Wild boar(hogs) will not "socialize" with a domestic or ~half-breed domestic hog in the same pen. We kept roughly 100 per pen and the non-wild animals were always segregated on the opposite end of the pen when the animals were not disturbed.
