Has anyone been? It's in Coolidge Texas. I'm looking for a 2 day guided fishing trip in central Texas for some big bass. This lake popped up on my radar and curious if anyone has been and their experience.

TIA

I was there about 8 years ago. Really good day with a couple fish over 8#.
Good action. Fish were all in the cattails.

The owner had an aquarium with some lunkers in it.

I just looked this place up. Looks like it would be a blast! Someone tell me … is $1900 a day for 2 fisherman and a guide expensive? I get that you have access to a private lake, but that seems expensive??? Or no?

if that 1900 covers lodging and meals and you can fish fri and sat then it seems about right

I talked to them yesterday about prices and they quoted me $1500 per day (for 2 adults and my nephew who is 12) + $600 if we want a guide + $150/night for a cabin if we stay overnight.

Those are small lakes. 40 acres or so. You really can't compare their prices to regular fishin guide rates on Central Texas lakes like LBJ, Buchanan etc. with a guide.
You are paying the premium price for access to the stocked lakes and trophy bass that are in them.
You can find much cheaper standard trips with good guides on the public lakes but you have a much greater % of chance to catch a trophy bass in those small acreage stocked lakes ….. so you pay for that privilege.

Boat racing is like a beautiful woman.......expensive, high maintenance, but well worth the fun!

Years and years ago I had a Private Water Fishing club back when it was still called the "Great American Bass Club" and there was some outstanding fishing on those managed lakes. Caught some monster bass. But after about 3 years they lost most of the Houston area lakes they had leased in the program and it just wasn't worth it to me anymore because I had to drive 2+ hours to almost all of their spots. They've got a ton around DFW these days so if I lived there I'd consider re-joining.

I was a member of "Private Waters Fishing" until a year or two ago. I really enjoyed it but the price kept rising and I didn't have enough time to fish to justify it

I'm not sure that a guide would be that necessary out there? I think it would be fun. Nothing wrong with chasing fish in a barrel now and then.

agreed. If we go, we won't be using a guide.
