We saw just as many diamondbacks in our pasture as we did around the house and barns in the hill country. Kinda hard to remove all their food source on two sections and I don't want that many cats to cover that ground.
And you live in Tennessee where you gotta only contend with two types of rattlesnakes……timber, and pygmy and both rare in sightings. No wonder you don't have many poisonous snakes in your yard.

Just get a 357/38spl revolver and use shot rounds. Works great on snakes.

I got a little youth sized single shot .410 for my daughter to go hunting with me when she was 9 or 10 years old. That is the best snake gun I own.

You might also look at a rossi circuit judge with a stock and a longer barrel.

I looked at one of those and almost bought it, but my wife thinks I have "enough" guns, and should sell some old ones before i buy any new ones.

I am very blessed. I married a Uvalde ranch girl whose dad was a gunsmith and weapons curator at a museum and an avid collector. She did everything with him and loves guns.
So when we go to a gun show many times she will see something she likes and says " we need that gun!" As I said….I am blessed.
