Is there a resource you all use to get a best guess at the rain totals if I'm not there to see? Besides call the neighbor?

If you have wifi, get a tempest weather station. I have one and it works well.

There are networks of weather sensors like bloomsky that you can see if someone has one nearby.

Just checked on the cell coming my way to see what it did in Somerville area

I use the LCRA rainfall summary to check rainfall at my ranch. Not dead on, but close.

Raindrop app has been pretty close to my physical gauge

I find the online estimators can come up short if it's an extremely slow drizzle for a couple days. Or if it's a massive downpour.

I've been on that website 20 times today.

Closest gauge to our property said 1.23 inches which is great. It was a fairly slow rain too.


Funny story- gal at the liquor store tonight said this 'I'm glad it rained today. I have a friend with 100 acres and horses in Troy. She told me when it doesn't rain they have to buy hay and that's expensive.'

I nodded my head in some kind of amused agreement.

She is a Dodgers fan but a nice lady. Chatty but fine.
