What does everyone recommend as the best lens type for sunglasses? I've always worn off the shelf Costas or Maui Jim. I've noticed that the clarity out on the lake is not as crisp anymore for me. I had lasik many years ago and still have good vision but when I put on sunglasses, it is not as crisp as I would like it to be. Should I consider a glass lens?

I make my living on the boat. I go with glass lenses. Had Costas forever but they got to be too heavy and too dark compared to Bajio. I use the violet colored lenses most of the time and the rose colored lenses on overcast days. Lets in a lot more might for my aging eyes.

Got another pair of Bajio with readers.....those are the poly lenses. Again went with the violet colored. Wear those most when im guiding trips so I can see better to tie knots and pick out tangles.

I am a huge fan of Oakley Prism Polarized lenses. I have a few different colors for different outdoor activities and they are great. The Oakley MSRP is high, but better deals can be found on the internets. If it's WAY below MSRP then it's probably fake.
PS…All Oakleys are made in USA!

I'm a fan of Smith sunglasses. Their actual glass lense is much lighter than Costa's. Or at least it was when I bought my pair several years ago.

My vote is Smith chromapop glass. Good lens, good warranty. I've moved far away from Costa.

Like Grem said, I like the violet Bajio glass. Bajio would get my second place vote. Also still has a good warranty program.

Unrelated to this post but do you still have your hotmail address? It doesn't look like you have the ability to PM and I wanted to ask you some airgun questions. Thanks.

Anywhere you can try on Bajio sunglasses? I have a small melon and would like to test them out.

If you're in Corpus or Rockport, Roy's and The Fly Trap carry them.

Still love Costas

My latest pair have been the clearest I've had in a while. Probably because they are prescription.

I will add, check your vision insurance. Mine gives one pair a year and since my previous frames and lenses were fine I used my annual benefit for a pair of rx costa sunglasses.

I know this is mostly in regards to fishing/watersport activities, but I've always really liked Serengeti Drivers for onshore use. Particularly (wait for it...) for driving.

Lost my favorite pairs of costas a few months ago. Bought a pair of Smiths yesterday so my Costas will show up.
